ISABEL OAKESHOTT

Isabel Oakeshott is Political Editor At Large on the Daily Mail and was formerly Political Editor of the Sunday Times from 2011 to 2014, when she left to co-write an unauthorised biography of Prime Minister David Cameron, 'Call Me Dave'. The book attracted global publicity.

In 2012, Isabel joined the Sunday Politics show. Hosted by Andrew Neil, the show is broadcast live every weekend and attracts viewing figures of up to 1m. Isabel was one of a three-strong panel of pundits, billed by the BBC as the “brightest and best of their generation… the best political panel in the business.”

Isabel has appeared on multiple other BBC television and radio programmes, including BBC1’s flagship political programme Question Time; Radio 4’s Today; The World At One; Any Questions; Westminster Hour and Woman’s Hour. She is also an occasional commentator for Sky News.

Isabel is a highly respected commentator on the big political issues of the day and will enlighten and entertain us with her insights on the inner workings of politics and the media.

ANDREW SCOTT

Andrew is a serial entrepreneur turned angel investor at 7percent Ventures, disrupting the status quo in European early stage tech investing.

Previously Founder of six tech startups, Andrew’s products have included the world’s first online digital news archive (BritishPathe.com), the first location based mobile social network (playtxt), and a patented trust network for use as a very fast personalised recommendation engine (Rummble). He was previously on the board of MLove, and UnLtd World.

In 2009 he co-founded the not-for-profit the European Entrepreneur group The ICE List and remains on the Board; as well as the EU Policy Makers Advisory Board, splitting his time between London and San Francisco. 

PETER COWLEY

Peter is a Cambridge University Engineering/Computing graduate who founded and ran ten technology and construction businesses for 30+ years and, in the last decade, has angel invested in over 55 start-ups mainly in Cambridge and London.  He was recently named Best Angel of the World by the World Business Angel Investment Forum and was UK Angel of the Year for 2014/15.  He is a non-executive director of five of those startups and a board observer of four others.

Peter is chair of the Cambridge Business Angels, is a Fellow in Entrepreneurship of the Cambridge Judge Business School, a board member of UKBAA and has mentored countless entrepreneurs.

He setup and runs the Martlet early stage start-up investment fund of Marshall of Cambridge, which has invested £5M in 40+ startups, and is a member of the investment committee of the £100M UK Government Angel CoFund.

For over 15 years, Peter has been involved in charity and social enterprise governance as chair and treasurer of various trustee boards.

PETER MOUNTFORD

Peter Mountford is a successful Financier, Chairman and Director, and active investor.  He is one of the UK's experts in IPOs and in using Cash Shells as investment vehicles.  Peter has floated 3 of the most successful companies on AIM:  RWS Holdings plc, GW Pharmaceuticals plc, and Learning Technologies Group plc.  He is the Chairman of Heropreneurs, an organisation formed to help ex service men and women become entrepreneurs.  He is also the Chairman of The Veterans' Foundation, a charity which has established a nationwide source of funding to help military charities that struggle to raise funding.

CATHERINE GANNON

After qualifying in the accountancy profession as a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA), Catherine Gannon qualified as a solicitor and gained experience at international law firms before establishing Gannons in 2002. With a tax and accountancy as well as legal background, she offers the rare ability to put commerciality into practice. Catherine is involved with matters spanning all of the firm’s practice areas drawing on many years of experience to provide direction. She is a regular writer and speaker for a variety of commercial organisations.
